This container's shape will make it stand out in any area. It will blend in very nicely pretty much in any tree! It's shaped like a pine cone, but it doesn't mean you should put it only on pines!
The container comes in green and brown. Logs and zip-ties are included. It's ready to be hidden right away!
You will see other pinecone geocaches out there, but this one is more practical and durable. One of the most important features is the lid. The zip tie goes inside the lid, instead of through a loop on the outside. The loop breaks off quite easily, while the lid here is impossible to break without tools.
As an active geocacher and hider myself (9000+ found and 400+ hidden) I always consider the practicality and longevity of my designs for real life geocaching. Here are some features:
• My designs are sturdy and can withstand some anxious geocachers trying to quickly get to the log!
• I use high quality plastic. The container will endure being opened and closed countless times.
• The plastic is tough enough to withstand the elements, be it heat or freeze, to make a hide that will last for years.
• I make my logs from rite-in-the-rain paper. It's a very durable material that ensures the log will last a long time.
I own a few hides with this container and it performs very well in the open. The log stays dry despite rains and humidity of South East Texas. If you're in the north, freezing won't destroy this container. It is also UV-resistant and doesn't deteriorate even in the blazing sun of the south.
